REACH Brand storytellers
The story of REACH
Voluntary organization Oosterhoutvoorelkaar (OVE) was faced with a challenge when corona reached Oosterhout in the spring. The needs for help changed in a short time and all kinds of initiatives were soon developed, adapted to the changing demand. Among other things, volunteers started a meal service and OVE, together with others, developed all kinds of activities to meet the demand. It was quite a challenge to publicize the various campaigns in a short period of time, with a limited budget. And then OVE received an offer from REACH; an Oosterhout office that focuses, through communication, on making connections between companies, their customers and their social responsibility. The bond was forged quickly and REACH selflessly took care of communication around the corona help.
From now on stories….
Even now that the Netherlands is again holding its breath about the development of the contamination figures, REACH is helping, among other things, to design this column. Menno Verheij of REACH about this: ”We had more room in the agenda this spring and we certainly didn't want to sit still. We decided to use the freed up time for OVE, because they know how to link volunteers and people seeking help. The cooperation with OVE is very pleasant. I would recommend it to other entrepreneurs. In Oosterhout, so many initiatives are being developed in the field of voluntary work. There is always a way for your company to support those initiatives.”
Lotte is a youth coach
Lotte is a youth coach Lotte excited about #Being Nice She is 19 years old, was an intern at Oosterhoutvoorelkaar (OVE), completed the Social Services course last year and now supervises young people who want to contribute to society. "Volunteering is really good for your personal development" Lotte Kleefstra was unable to say goodbye to OVE after her internship. “I always feel happy when I'm working here. The atmosphere is pleasant and we work with a nice team”. She is now studying law in Tilburg and in the hours she has left, she is committed to the youth project #Being Nice by OVE #Young. With the project, OVE tries to encourage young people to do voluntary work. If you are just as enthusiastic about it as Lotte, you can sign up for a voluntary Traineeship. With the guidance of Lotte or one of her colleagues, or with the guidance of one of the affiliated organisations, young people gain experience as volunteers for six months in activities that match their own sphere of interest. Lotte: “Young people sometimes don't even think about how fun and valuable voluntary work can be. It is often thought that it is something for the elderly.” A few years ago, Lotte herself also thought that it would not be for her. “I was then asked if I wanted to guide people with disabilities during a holiday. I had my doubts, but I decided to do it anyway. I would survive those five days. And what fun it was in the end! After that I even looked forward to it.” Lotte does not hide her enthusiasm. “Volunteering is really good for your personal development. And, if you do something that fits your future plans, you'll enjoy it a lot later. But the most important thing I think is that it gives me energy and a lot of positivity”. Lotte now guides the young people who sign up for the Voluntary Traineeship. “Together we look at what suits someone's interests or where someone can already develop in the chosen field of study. Together we determine which learning goals the trainee wants to achieve. And of course everything on a voluntary basis. We are also only too happy to see a young person who just enjoys doing something for someone else, without committing himself to the traineeship. Whoever does something for someone else is actually kind to himself as well.” If you want to do a good deed, you can of course also take action together with friends. You don't have to do it alone. Lotte calls on young people (up to 27 years old) in Oosterhout to participate in #Being Nice this summer. “Whoever does something for someone else and takes a selfie of the action can pick up a token at OVE for an ice cream from Via Via. OVE has 500 coins to give. We will hang all the selfies in the shop window and after the summer holidays, the 3 most original selfies will earn a prize”. “We call that the Being Nice Award”, Lotte adds with a laugh.
