You are not in your duck #together againstloneliness
Oosterhoutvoorelkaar release the ducks this week. Put a smile on someone's face and write a sweet message.
Rubber ducks as a symbol against loneliness
With this action Oosterhoutvoorelkaar draws attention to loneliness in Oosterhout. Research shows that as many as 1 in 3 Dutch people sometimes feel lonely. This also applies to the inhabitants of the municipality of Oosterhout. You are not lonely in your "duck", because an estimated 18,000 thousand Oosterhouters sometimes feel lonely. Loneliness is often associated with the elderly, but it is not just the elderly who feel lonely. You can also suddenly feel lonely due to a move, illness or illness of a family member. It's hard to take away the loneliness of someone, but small things are often enough to give at least a moment the feeling that you are not alone.
We invite you to visit our volunteer shop during the week against loneliness from Thursday 27 September to Friday 5 October, at Oosterhoutvoorelkaar, Arendshof 83. (opposite the Hema and next to Ruud Beins). Come and have a cup of coffee, write a sweet message for one of the lonely Oosterhouters on a card and hang the card on one of the 100 ducks that swim around with us.
Hundred messages
We hope that all 100 ducks are described with a sweet message by residents of Oosterhout. These encouraging rubber ducks are distributed among residents of Oosterhout who sometimes or regularly feel lonely. We know some of them, don't you? Surprise them with a duck from our bath. But even if you feel lonely, come and free a duck from our bath and make yourself happy with the encouraging text that another Oosterhouter has written for you.
See you soon! The coffee is ready!
